Croydon to Kurumba

Day 5 - we packed up and left Undara and it had been a great experience. We headed off along the Savannah Way. First stop was Georgetown. We had a quick look around some great historical buildings. Back on the highway and not far until we hit the Cumberland Chimmey, remnants of a Gold Mine site! Finally we hit Croydon and the temperature has risen significantly- 37. We had lunch at the pub and went to have a look at the Gulflander which had arrived at the Croydon Railway Station. Afternoon looking around Croydon! It’s an old gold mining town, so there is heaps to see. You’ll need more than a quick stop here.

Day 6 - We waved goodbye to Croydon and headed for Karumba! On the way we stopped at Normanton. Another great town to spend some time exploring! The history here is great too! There is also a replica of an 8 metre croc that was shot many years ago! Fact or fiction you be the judge! The Norman River was also good to see. After Normanton, it was a short drive to Karumba. Been wanting to visit here ever since watching Outback Roads.
