In the quaint area of George Town, Tasmania sits a newly renovated cottage, Ivy Cottage. This is a fabulous BnB. It is newly renovated and it is charming. Your hosts Robyn and Warrick, have spent four years renovating this run down cottage in Wellington Street, George Town and transforming it into a very comfortable BnB steeped in its history. The Cottage itself is circa 1860.
Today this Cottage has three ensuited bedrooms. Each bedroom and ensuite is very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and cosy. There is a common lounge and dining room, which I am sure on cold nights, the fireplace would be awesome. There is Netflix and Free Wifi but we didn't take advantage of this as we were out and about exploring the many sites of this area. Breakfast is provided each day and it can be a hot or cold. Everyday we enjoyed the breakfast and Robyn ensured that it was cooked to our liking eg. crispy bacon for Anthony. We do not normally stay at BnBs as I am not a fan of sharing a bathroom so this Cottage was fantastic with its ensuite. We were in Bedroom 1 and it was very private.
As hosts, Robyn and Warrick are fantastic. They are great conversationalists and also they provided us with the little things that ensured our stay was homely. For example, the verandah lights and the hall light was on for when we came home at night. We spent 7 nights at Ivy Cottage and felt totally comfortable and sad to leave. If travelling to George Town or Low Head definitely make this your place to stay.
