Let's scooter to Tanah Lot!

Day 4 - Day for exploring and scootering! When we arrived we hired a scooter through Villa 888, it was too easy. They delivered to the Villa door and it was only A$7 per day. It is a really good bike. I know you can get cheaper but I feel this is a reliable one. Make sure you have an international licence but better still if you have an Aussie Bike licence your insurance is in a better way if something was to happen.

Let's start the day with breakfast at Sisterfields. This is a really great cafe with a very good reputation. It strays away from your normal breakfast - it is fresh and contemporary. After breakfast we headed down the coastline on our scooters to Tanah Lot. It is about a one-hour scooter ride from Seminyak and once you throw away the Aussie road rules brain, it becomes easy to interact with the traffic. Tanah Lot has two temples on a rock formation out from the coastline. You see these types of photos a lot and it is every bit as impressive close up. Today there was a very large ceremony at the temple so it did not seem appropriate to walk out to the temple to look closer, so we just looked from afar. Also at Tanah Lot, there are quite large markets, so after a quick look around we left. Markets are just not my thing but I know that people love to go to them when in Bali.

Back on the scooter, we headed off to Finns Beach Club for relaxing, beverages and lunch. We bought a 4 person day bed under the shade and spent a few hours relaxing. It was a pretty hot day and quite humid. The sea breeze coming in was welcomed. Finn's is a very large and popular beach club. Many people come for the day, many with skin that can stay more than one hour in the sun. There is a great vibe at Finn's, lots of people enjoying themselves.

I wanted to look around Canggu but it was too hot (hopefully, we'll squeeze another scooter down this way), so we headed back to the Villa 888 for more poolside relaxing - much the same as Finn's less the view and waitstaff! This Villa is fantastic! Once it cooled down a bit I went off to a spot of shopping and grabbed a few great things from some beautiful Seminyak boutiques. To see the afternoon out it was back to SOHO 24/7 Diner again for some more street watching and a catch up drink with a friend. Our friend is a local, and she gave us some tips and places to see while in Bali.

For the evening we went to Ginger Moon for dinner. Really lovely food and great ambiance. We were given a table upstairs. While dining we had the duck pancakes, prawn rice rolls and pizzas. This is a very reasonably priced restaurant and quite popular. I did find it a bit warm in the restaurant which was making dinner uncomfortable. On our walk back to the Villa, Anthony and I went for a foot massage at one of the street spas in Eat Street, Jalan Laksmana. A$10 for both of us. Great way to end the day!
